Making videogames takes a lot of time, effort & vision and over the past 8 years we’ve documented the development of each of our games. Early on in development of this game we decided to try something new. We wanted to explore how new technologies could add to our unique gaming experience and further immerse our players in the mysterious world of The Room. Designed from the ground up for the unique capabilities of VR, players can inhabit the spine-tingling world of The Room and interact with its strange contraptions in this compelling new chapter. The game begins in Bloomsbury Police Station in London during a mysterious investigation into a missing persons case.
The game continues deep within The British Institute of Archaeology, where the disappearance of an esteemed Egyptologist prompts a Police investigation into the unknown. Explore cryptic locations, examine fantastic gadgets and discover an otherworldly element which blurs the line between reality and illusion.

We’re a team of 16 based in Guildford, UK and since 2012 we’ve been creating our own games, beginning with the multi-award winning puzzle game The Room, followed by the critically acclaimed sequels The Room Two, The Room Three, The Room: Old Sins and returned to Virtual reality with The Room VR: A Dark Matter. Our first Virtual Reality game was a Jetpack action game called Omega Agent which we released back in 2015, let’s just say we learned a lot making that game!
Following many requests, we’ve created a number of items including T-shirts, mugs and phone cases featuring exclusive artwork from all our games including The Room VR: A Dark Matter and you can buy them from Design By Humans (who also ship internationally ;)
